Museum Sage Guide Training

Okay — so you did a Museum Sage session and had a terrific experience. Or you've never done it but it sounds like something you want to do and share with others. Take this fun Level I Guide training and start using it with your friends, family or clients immediately.

You'll receive a personal Museum Sage session with other participants. Then your trainer will walk you through the guiding process using simple visual materials. You'll practice guiding a partner and receive helpful feedback from your trainer.

We draw on the areas of life coaching, neuroscience, psychology, surrealism, and visual literacy for our experiential, interactive training.

"This training was a fun and interesting day of learning a new way of approaching art at a museum. The facilitators were easy to follow and I got to practice what I learned that morning in the afternoon session. I've guided Museum Sage on three different occasions — twice at Mia in Minneapolis and once with my son and daughter-in law at Ringling Fine Art Museum in Sarasota where they both work — and each time was amazed at how the art brings clarity to the personal questions asked. I can’t wait to practice it again!"

– Mary McMahon, docent at Minneapolis Institute of Art

Benefits

PERSONAL USE

Perhaps you'd like to use Museum Sage as a personal development activity you can share with family and friends. Here's what you walk away with:

DEEPER INTIMACY: Guiding and being guided can develop a relationship in profound ways. Museum Sage is a game, yet it's also a spiritual practice that invites you to share your deepest questions and desires and witness others' journeys.

FUN SOCIAL ACTIVITY: This is art appreciation with a twist. Bring your book group and experience art, the museum, and each other in a lively way.

FOR LIFE COACHES AND THERAPISTS

Some of the benefits of using Museum Sage with your clients:

DEEPER SESSIONS: When your client has a physically embodied experience, more of them is engaged so their learning is deeper and commitments to future action are more memorable. Plus, being in an art museum activates whole-brain engagement.

PROFOUND INSIGHTS: Because the artwork is chosen by the client using an element of chance, there's room for the unexpected, perhaps even magical, to show up.

GROUP CONNECTIVITY: Doing Museum Sage with groups quickly bonds the members and give them a visual to remember and support their teammates’ goals. Participants get to share their deepest questions and witness others’ journeys.

AND... Museum Sage is deeply fun for both the client and you.

"Guiding someone in Museum Sage is a gift. It's magical to look closely at art with someone through a deeply personal lens and then to see that person light up with new insights into themselves."

– Sara Smith, museum exhibit designer and producer
